2007 Officer of the Year

Constable Dale Schaper named “Officer of the Year”

His peers at the annual Grimes County Crime Stoppers banquet honored Grimes County Precinct 1 Constable Dale Schaper Saturday night by naming him the county's “Officer of the Year”.

The event drew an estimated crowd of 200 and featured a number of awards to county law enforcement officers and support personnel.

Other awards and their recipients included: Bob Galloway, Reserve Officer of the Year; Grimes County Sheriff's Office Support Person of the Year, Andrea Bender of the Grimes County District Attorney's office; Sergeant Bud Grant, Jailer of the Year; Sharee Shepard, Navasota Police Department Dispatcher of the Year; Humanitarian of the Year, Brenda Williams, Grimes County Crime Victims Coordinator.

Nicollete Sandoval, Jimmy Armatys, Mike Clark, Jennifer Matejicek, Blake Jarvis, John Wren, (GCSO), Michael Mize, (Navasota PD), Peggy Harrison and Nancy Olson, (Crimestoppers Board) and Mary Leibham, (Special Support) all received special recognition.

Judge Albert “Buddy” McCaig was the keynote speaker commending law enforcement personnel for their special calling and thanking them for “standing in the gap” in Grimes County.

Since May 2002, Grimes County Crime Stoppers has received 120 tips, which have resulted in 51 arrests, and 60 cleared cases and the recovery of $25,820 in property. $3,000 in rewards was paid for tips that led to convictions in 2007.
